The Next Project Truck

You may remember a recent story about a sick Nissan built by Chris Nallick at NFabWorks in Milton, Florida. Well, Chris is now with AllOutFab and he is on to his next project, a 2005 Dodge 3500 4×4. AllOutFab did a front end replacement where they changed out the fenders, grill and headlights to give it a newer look. Then they added an 8″ Pure Performance lift in the front and a set of Atlas 6″ springs to the rear.
This Dodge is running 37″ Iroks on Ultra Goliath wheels and it has a dully rear with a regular wheel up front. Also, since this is a tow vehicle, Chris got a set of Firestone air bags and their new Extreme wireless onboard air kit. In the engine bay, you will find a Borg Warner S 368 turbo and Industrial Injection plus 60 HP injectors along with an Edge Juice with Additude to control everything. In the cab, AllOutFab installed all Clarion – 7″ headunit, 10″ flip down monitor, amps and subs.
They are still waiting on the winches, bumpers and the suncoast ram air hood to show up. They will keep us in the loop on how the truck progresses and we will post photos when it’s fully complete. Keep an eye out for an update on what will be an amaizing lifted Dodge.
For more info, you can reach Chris Nallick at 850-777-6413 or email him – Chris@AllOutFab.com

Casey Currie Charges Through The Field in Utah
The sun and wind were out in full force, beating down and whipping through the paddocks at Round 7 & 8 of Lucas Oil Off Road at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah. Unrelenting were the conditions, and so was the determination of Casey Currie as he charged through the field all weekend. Starting toward the middle of the pack both Saturday and Sunday, Casey would suffer some setbacks, giving him a chance to display some of his raw talent and driving skill for the crowd as he powered his way through multiple competitors to finish 5th on Saturday and attain up to position 2 on Sunday, final results still pending.
“We had a great jump at the start and coming into the 1st turn I was T-boned, resulting in a flat tire,” commented Casey of Saturday’s race. “I pitted to have the tire changed and re-entered the race in the back of the field. We were dead last, but put our heads down to work our way through 18 trucks to finish 5th.”
Running in the top 3 after starting 9th on Sunday, the door-to-door sport of short course racing would get technical when contact was made with only several laps to go.
“We had a great race going, running in 4th at half-way,” Casey went on to explain. “We came into the 3rd turn after the restart, and close racing resulted in slight contact with another driver. We charged hard after that to get in the top 2 spot before the race was over and are now waiting on Lucas officials for results.”
Next stop for Casey Currie and crew will be the first Torc event of the year for the Currie team: Round 7 & 8 at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, IL. KMC Driver Bryce Menzies Wins Baja 500 by 11 Seconds
KMC manufacturers stylish and quality wheels. They also sponsor stylish and quality drivers. One of their drivers, Bryce Menzies, took his second-consecutive win at the Baja 500, crossing the line 11 seconds ahead of rival BJ Baldwin after 450 miles of tough racing. With over 35 Trophy Truck entries, competition was stiff at this year’s running of the Baja 500 but Menzies and Co-Driver Pete Mortensen were intent on defending their 2011 victory.
The course was tough, with the #1 Menzies/Red Bull/KMCwheels Trophy Truck making its way through some 450 miles of the rough Baja desert. After starting in the 18th slot, it took only four miles before Menzies and Mortensen began catching the trucks ahead. The team also supported the #76 Trophy Truck of Jesse Jones. Menzies and Jones combined teams for this year’s Baja 500 in an effort to earn the top-12 finish that would land them in the draw for the 2012 Baja 1000. They team up again at that race, sharing driving duties.
Menzies and Mortensen slid into the finish and claimed the win by only 11 seconds over rival BJ Baldwin. The #76 of Jesse Jones, who started 32nd, finished third. Both drivers are in the draw for their return to the Baja for the storied 1000 race from Ensenada to La Paz, starting November 16.
This Guy is the Exact Opposite of a SoCalTruck Owner
The SoCalTruck owner is known to drive a lifted truck, maybe ride a snowboard, motocross, wakeboard or surf, and probably dresses like most other SoCal residents. Although different from the other 99% of the U.S., it’s usually pretty easy to spot one. Well, so what’s the opposite a SoCalTruck person? We could throw out a bunch of different descriptions, but instead, just watch the video below. It’s this random guy who videos himself talking for 7 minutes while driving. Who would want to watch that? 17 people…or one person 17 times.
He rambles on about maximizing gas mileage, graduation, the new Mac, and hitting the gym. It’s like he was built for the movie Best in Show. The best part occurs around 4:35 when he breaks his monologue about hitting the gym to mock a lifted truck in front of him. He asks the question, “Seriously, why is your truck that high off the ground?” There it is! That’s exactly how you know the opposite of a SoCalTruck owner. It’s someone who would ask a question like that. Some answers that come to mind as to why a truck would be high of the ground include: 1) offroading, 2) running over things, 3) sitting higher than almost every other truck on the road, 4) looking amazing, 5) all of the above.
It’s not working out or loving Macs or even maximizing gas mileage that makes you non-SoCal. What puts you at the opposite end of the spectrum is when you ask dumb questions about big trucks. Enjoy the video…if you can get through 7 minutes of awkwardness. Click here to watch it.

Danny Way makes off road debut

Skateboard star Danny Way has become one of the newest racers to enter the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series. The 38 year old is famous for his “bomb drop” from a helicopter, his leap of the Great Wall of China in 2005, loads of X game excitement in the Big Air competition, and is an overall good dude!!
Danny is one of many action sports athletes to make the transition into off road racing. Others consist of Brian Deegan, Jeremy Stenberg, Jeremy McGrath, and Carey Hart. The LORRS stage allows a great deal of promotion for the athletes and their sponsors. LORRS stops in seven major cities and receives a great deal of air time on major networks.
Sponsors include Toyota, Geico, Rockstar Energy, Monster Energy and Lucas Oil.
SoCal Says: It’s great to see big names join the 2012 LORRS, and we wish Danny the best of luck this weekend!!!
Check out Dennis Smith – Lifted Truck IT Guy?
When I think about a lifted truck owner, I picture a guy who works construction and wakeboards on the weekend or a high school chick who loves to snowboard and drive a big truck. One of the last things that comes to mind is a guy who manages networking and storage at a Dell tech center. That’s why we were shocked when we stumbled across Dennis Smith’s blog, detailing the transformation of his stock F150. The truck pictured here is Dennis’ creation. Pretty legit for a guy whose tagline is “IT Re-Invisioned.”
Dennis, we’re glad you pulled the trigger and lifted your truck. You are miles ahead of 99% of IT guys on the planet. Can you influence Michael Dell to get a big truck? For more info on Dennis and his truck, click here to check out his blog.
New K&N Intake for 2011-12 Ford Diesel Trucks
K&N’s 63-2582 AirCharger air intake system has given Ford Super Duty Pickup owners more power and performance. Quite a few 2011-2012 Ford Super Duty truck enthusiasts were notified the intake was first released and their response to this diesel air intake has been great!
Turbo diesels require a lot of air to function properly. Restriction is not a friend to these engines as it can rob them of power and torque. In simple terms a K&N high-flow performance air intake system reduces restriction allowing your diesel engine to perform better. K&N power testing shows the 63-2582 air intake system gaining an estimated 11.92 horsepower and 22.44 lb-ft of torque to the wheels at 2700 RPM on a 2011 Ford F-250 truck with a 6.7 liter turbo diesel engine.
This K&N air intake system allows your engine to breathe while protecting your engine from harmful contaminants. It also comes with a washable/reusable K&N air filter, part number RC-5282, which makes an accommodation for the factory restriction gauge. Once the restriction gauge reads red just pop the K&N air filter off and clean it. Do-it-yourselfers no longer have to drive to the store or keep a spare air filter on hand in order to service their vehicle. All you have to do is remove the air filter, clean it, let it dry, apply the K&N air filter oil and you are back on the road. Since this K&N air filter can go for up to 100,000 miles before cleaning is needed, depending on driving conditions, you won’t need to think about cleaning it for a while.
The 63-2582 air intake comes with K&N’s Million Mile Limited Warranty so it can withstand more miles than most vehicles see in a lifetime. This intake comes with all necessary hardware and detailed installation instructions.
If you are looking for more power and better performance out of your 2011-2012 Ford Super Duty diesel truck get a K&N air intake system and see the results for yourself. K&N also makes other air intakes for Ford F-250 Super Duty Trucks and other air intakes for Ford F-350 Super Duty Trucks for models going back into the 1980’s.
K&N 63-2582 air intake fits the 2011 or 2012 Ford F250 and F350 Super Duty 6.7L V8 DSL trucks. The intake will run you about $350 before installation.
