Unlike their counterparts at Ford, Toyota is bringing a great mix of lifted trucks to SEMA. The first one, a Tacoma pictured above, was built by Long Beach Racers (who is sponsored by AEM). These guys are insane and know how to build a truck. This pre-runner has Bilsteins, Hella lights, a carbon-fiber skidplate, and a custom bed cage with spare tire mount. Love it!

The second truck brought by Toyota is a Tundra built by West Coast Customs. This truck built for motocross has a Camburg suspension lift, Fox shocks, and custom textured paint from Line-X. They also customized a few items like a hidden gas tank, winch, and hidden ramp that remain out of view. It’s durable and functional and sponsored DC, which makes it that much cooler.

The last truck is a Tacoma Surf truck from Smithbuilt. Even though it has a 3″ lift, Flowmaster exhaust, BFG tires, and Kicker sound, it’s really ugly. We understand that it’s a functional surf truck, so we’ll give it a pass this time, but we think a few small things could have been done to improve this truck (change the paint, add AMP electric steps, fiberglass).
SoCal Says: We give Toyota an “A” grade for their lifted trucks at SEMA. Not only are they bringing more lifted trucks than the other two companies highlighted, they are all sick trucks. The Oakley surf truck is just okay, but the other two are insane. We would give them an “A+” if they were bringing a big Tundra and some other cool “lifted truck lifestyle” feature (like MMA fighters), but that’s minor. If you are at SEMA, the Toyota section is a MUST STOP for all lifted truck fans.
