Ford to beef up production of svt raptor
The Ford SVT Raptor has proved to be one of the top selling and most popular trucks in the last couple of years. Ford has made a decision to begin building the Raptor in its Dearborn truck plant to keep up with demand. The makers at Ford have set a goal to boost production to 5 trucks an hour within the next few weeks.
The Raptor began as an experiment and proved to be extremely successful. The Raptor starts at around $44,000 and can go up to $60,000 based on options.
It features a 6.2 Liter V-8 and offers 411 horsepower. Dealerships cannot keep these vehicles on the lot which is why Ford is beefing up production.

Arizona Special Olympics Roughrider Raptor Up For Auction
Sanderson Ford and partners built a 2012 Ford Raptor for the Special Olympics Arizona that was unveiled at SEMA this year and will be auctioned off at the 2013 Scottsdale Barrett-Jackson (with 100% of the sale price going to the AZ Special Olympics). The theme to this truck will be a heritage kickback to the “Ford Rough Riders” with its Red/White/Blue paint scheme. Foutz Motorsports has agreed to partner with Sanderson Ford to produce this state of the art Raptor Pre-Runner. All sponsored products will be donated to Special Olympics and a letter will come directly from them so that you can write it off as a charitable contribution.
Barrett Jackson Description:
Ford F-150 SVT Raptor is the purpose-built, high-performance, no excuses Baja-proven truck with the credentials to take on challenging off-road adventures and versatile enough to handle everyday life on pavement. The “Rough Riders” 2012 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor, created by Sanderson Ford to raise money for the Arizona Special Olympics, combines the nostalgic Rough Riders look of the 90’s with the proven capabilities of the most powerful, off-road capable pickup on the market to create a daring, go anywhere tribute Pre-Runner. Powertrain upgrades to the SVT Raptor’s standard 411hp 6.2L 2V SOHC V8 engine include a ROUSH air intake, Kooks Headers/Y-Pipe and Exhaust system. Enhancements to the proven off-road suspension include Foutz Motorsports Raptor Race Long Travel front A-arms and rear trailing arm, with King Racing Shocks give this truck 17″ of front wheel travel and 23″ of rear wheel travel. A Foutz Motorsports full chromoly roll cage, Harmon 70 gallon race fuel cell, 4 Recaro FIA race seats, Racer-X race radio, KC HiLites HID lights, Boatec wide body Raptor fenders, Simpson 5-point racing harnesses, two Optima batteries, Bullet Spray-n-Liners, RCV Performance front drive axles, Method race wheels and BFG Baja T/A tires gives this “Rough Rider” Ford F-150 SVT Raptor as much serious go as it has stunning show.

SVT Raptor is a huge hit this christmas
Ford’s SVT Raptor is making waves this Christmas. Apparently kids all over the universe are begging Santa for a toy version of the gas guzzling, on/off road Ford truck. Ford signed a licensing agreement with some of the top toy makers, as well as video game makers. The toy companies, video game companies and of course Ford are cashing in on the successful design of the SVT Raptor.
Ford also reported an increase in sales of the popular vehicle of over 20%, with its top two selling months being October and November.
Fisher Price has just released a Ford SVT Raptor Power Wheels!
SoCal Says: Peace out, We are on our way to Walmart to pick up a Power Wheels…
Brian Deegan claims a pair of wins
Brian Deegan and his Ford F-150 SVT Raptor claimed a pair of wins at Lucas Oil Off Road Championship Series.
“It has been a really good season,” said Deegan. “I am so blessed when I just think about the position I am in life. What a year. I don’t know if I will ever be able to top it as far as sports. Ford backed me the whole way and I had to produce. I had to show Ford I could win, and we did. X games and two championships here in Lucas Oil including Pro 2 in my rookie year as well as a lot of records set. It was a tough race, this last one, but this is about a whole season and I am just pumped. It has been a great year.”
“Ford has an long and storied history in off road truck racing from the deserts of Dakar to the brutality of Baja and from the Rough Riders to the recent success of The General, Brian Deegan,” said Jamie Allison, Director Ford Racing. “Together, Brian and Ford have had a phenomenal season in 2011 winning gold at X Games and dominating his Lucas Oil Off-Road programs. We are proud to be able to call him a Ford champion.”
Deegan made the switch from freestyle motocross nearly three years ago, and has continued to dominate and be a force in off road racing as he was in freestyle motocross.
SoCal Says: Brian Deegan continues to entertain. We are excited to see what he takes on next? Snowboarding? Wakeboarding?
