Do you know that Monster Trucks can be used to get kids interested in math? We didn’t know either until we saw this story from Standard.net. It highlights a teacher in Washington Terrace, Utah who brings in a giant truck every year and uses it to engage kids in math problems. SoCal SAYS: There seems to be a stereotype around lifted trucks that they are just for construction workers, rich kids, or people who love the desert. That is just inaccurate. There are plenty of people who drive their lifted truck to work everyday and there are other people, like Jodi Ford, who use it to teach math problems to students. Whether you like big trucks or not, you can’t help but stop and stare. They are impressive and stand-out from the standard vehicle. Why not use them for great things like helping kids learn?
