Some websites are saying Hoge was “inspired” by Chevy trucks, which led him to write the song. We’d guess that it probably had more to do with him getting paid, but there’s nothing wrong with that. As you probably already know, hundreds of songs include Chevy lyrics, including one of the most famous, American Pie by Don McLean.

There seems to be this continued debate about Ford vs. Chevy and we think that this is a unique data point for Chevy enthusiasts. How many songs have been written about Ford trucks?
