Ford to beef up production of svt raptor
The Ford SVT Raptor has proved to be one of the top selling and most popular trucks in the last couple of years. Ford has made a decision to begin building the Raptor in its Dearborn truck plant to keep up with demand. The makers at Ford have set a goal to boost production to 5 trucks an hour within the next few weeks.
The Raptor began as an experiment and proved to be extremely successful. The Raptor starts at around $44,000 and can go up to $60,000 based on options.
It features a 6.2 Liter V-8 and offers 411 horsepower. Dealerships cannot keep these vehicles on the lot which is why Ford is beefing up production.

Foutz Motorsports has agreed to partner with Sanderson Ford to produce this state of the art Raptor Pre-Runner. All sponsored products will be donated to Special Olympics and a letter will come directly from them so that you can write it off as a charitable contribution.
Barrett Jackson Description:

The “Rough Riders” 2012 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor, created by Sanderson Ford to raise money for the Arizona Special Olympics, combines the nostalgic Rough Riders look of the 90’s with the proven capabilities of the most powerful, off-road capable pickup on the market to create a daring, go anywhere tribute Pre-Runner. Powertrain upgrades to the SVT Raptor’s standard 411hp 6.2L 2V SOHC V8 engine include a ROUSH air intake, Kooks Headers/Y-Pipe and Exhaust system. Enhancements to the proven off-road suspension include Foutz Motorsports Raptor Race Long Travel front A-arms and rear trailing arm, with King Racing Shocks give this truck 17″ of front wheel travel and 23″ of rear wheel travel. A Foutz Motorsports full chromoly roll cage, Harmon 70 gallon race fuel cell, 4 Recaro FIA race seats, Racer-X race radio, KC HiLites HID lights, Boatec wide body Raptor fenders, Simpson 5-point racing harnesses, two Optima batteries, Bullet Spray-n-Liners, RCV Performance front drive axles, Method race wheels and BFG Baja T/A tires gives this “Rough Rider” Ford F-150 SVT Raptor as much serious go as it has stunning show.

Custom 2010 Ford F-150 Raptor Built By John Williams Was Featured at the 2011 SEMA Show
While SEMA may be the center for all things aftermarket, it is still amazing to see the variety of causes that theses aftermarket parts can represent. Sometimes people will choose a cause to support or sometimes they will choose a specific purpose to build the vehicle and sometimes they just build a car because they like building cars. In this case, the Ford F-150 built by John Williams was a blitz project that was begun 2 weeks before SEMA began and was finished 2 days before the show was to open. Let me repeat that 12 days of work to build this from the impressive, but stock, Raptor.
The F-150 in question began life as a 2010 F-150 Raptor with a 6.2 engine, which will be growling at the world through the K&N 77-2579KTK Performance intake system and will see an estimated 20Hp increase from this mod alone. John has done some previous work on SEMA vehicles as well, even earning some awards for his efforts. No wonder this particular build was no slouch on the suspension mod list:
ICON Upper control arms
Sway Away 2.5″ shocks
Deaver Leaf Springs
Poly performance rear shackles
4.56 ring and pinion from West Coast Differentials
Front Auburn Ected locking Differential
Warn 12000VR Winch
Custom pre runner bumpers
Superchips Cortex Programmer
Baja Designs Lights
Black Rock Wheels
BFGoodrich Mud Terrain TA KM2 Tires
K&N Performance Intake.
When asked what this vehicle does outside of SEMA John replied, “Drives me to and from work and pre running on the weekend.” It certainly ought to do that well. John has had some previous experience in building cars. In the past he has built cars for BRGoodrich, Bully Dog Technologies and Black Rock Wheel just to name a few.
When asked why he uses K&N specifically John replied “It’s the best product out there with years of testing and a long history of being the best air filter.” And when asked what experiences he’s had with K&N he said, “I have been using them on all of my vehicles since 1998!”
Now that SEMA is over John says that he is going to try to get back into rock crawling events and dirt racing. John also has a goal for his custom raptor; in short, 38×14 BFGoodrich Mud Terrain tires. As John puts it, “No other Raptor will be on tires this big!” And that’s a pretty impressive statement. That’s not to say that the entire project was bolt on or easy. That front bumper was an entirely different matter, it was custom built by John and in his words “They were the first tube products that I actually built.” With all of these custom parts and Fords recent foray into rock crawling at Moab it looks like this raptor is a dinosaur not to be taken lightly.

Seascursion
Car shows like SEMA prove that dreams do come true; more so for Robert Linn and Brandy Jackson and their aquatic themed Ford “Seascursion”. SEMA 2011 attracts numerous trucks to display the latest automotive products on the market. Ding Master’s custom Ford Excursion is a fine display of aftermarket components and custom fabrication.
Rob and Brandy own Ding Masters located in Banning, Ca. They offer the usual auto body services such as paint, window tint, and dent removal; hence the name Ding Masters. Running an auto body shop is like running a tattoo parlor; in that, you have the opportunity to get creative with your work. Many consumers like to customize their vehicles and what better way to do so than add a custom paint job.
Ding Masters got pretty creative with this 2000 Ford Excurison. It not only brings a dream to life, but proves that they produce excellent results when it comes to vehicle customization.
Many aftermarket products were used to complete this special build, such as; a K&N air filter, Super Swamper tires, MHT wheels, Fiberine custom fiberglass top, Xenia Pacific custom vehicle wrap, and Conti-tech air bags. The aquatic theme can be found inside and out. The interior can only be described as a luxurious sea adventure. There is a wraparound bench with a cocktail table and plenty of head room for passengers. Riding in the back of the “Seascursion” must be like taking a ride in an underwater limousine.
Charles Young, from Ding Masters, mentioned, “The vehicle mainly sits at the Ding Master collision center for advertising purposes.” This is a great advertising tool. How could you possibly miss this huge aquarium parked on a street corner? I must say, it is quite impressive to see in person.
This truck is a glimpse of what goes on after hours in the Ding Master shop. Long hours were put into building and preparing this rig for SEMA.
K&N Engineering offers air filters, air intake systems, as well as a oil filters for Ford Excursion models. K&N high flow air filters provide great performance for almost every application on the road.
If you are looking are an air filter for your custom ride use the K&N universal search then use the K&N dealer search to find a K&N dealer in your part of the world.
