Truck sales rise despite high gas prices
Trucks sales were up in December despite high fuel prices. Truck sales accounted for 58.4% of total vehicle sales even though gas is over $3 per gallon.
Trucks and pickups are the workhorses of America as they are always needed for construction and work projects. Many business man have traded in the sports car for a truck, which is a great decision!
General motors attributes a great deal of the rise to very generous discounts and rebates offered by truck companies this year.
Last year Ford Motor Co. sold two trucks for every one car. Chevy Silverado was the number 2 selling truck in 2011, just behind the Ford F-150.
SoCal Says: Last we checked gas prices aren’t going to detour us from what we love! We won’t be driving a Toyota Prius anytime soon.
