The Ford F150, the best-selling American-made pickup truck in recent decades, needs no introduction. It boasts many options and models that its rivals cannot match and the 2012 and 2013 model years continue this dominance with four engines to choose from, three body styles, and nine different trim levels. The base engine in the 2012 and 2013 Ford F150 is a 3.7 liter V6 that pumps out an impressive 302 horsepower and 278 pound-feet of torque while still only sipping fuel with an estimated 23 miles per gallon on the highway.
Even with impressive factory horsepower numbers from the base engine option, 2012 and 2013 Ford F150 3.7 liter owners can gain a simple increase in horsepower and engine performance with the K&N 77-2585KS performance air intake system. The 77-2585KS is precision-engineered with a mandrel-bent aluminum intake tube to streamline airflow and heat shield to help protect incoming air from heat under the hood. The RC-5173 conical air filter on the end of the intake tube is oversized to help reduce restriction while maintaining excellent air filtration. It is also washable and reusable, and can go for up to 100,000 miles between cleanings depending on driving conditions.
On the dyno, the 77-2585KS performance air intake system produced an estimated additional 11.9 horsepower at 5536rpm, and 10.3 pound-feet of torque at 3333rpm over the stock intake system.

2013 Ford Truck Jam on October 6th in Long Beach
Are you a Ford truck enthusiast? Do you love the x-games? Is helping charity high on your priority list? Do you love good food and fun? Are you interested in attending a FREE event with trucks, music, and food? If the answer to any of these is “yes” (or even kind of), then you should check out the 2013 Ford Truck Jam in Long Beach, CA on October 6th. This will be a “can’t miss” event, distinctly geared to the community’s Ford Truck enthusiasts. Not to mention that the proceeds of all entry fees will benefit The Sheckler Foundation, a charitable organization dedicated to enriching the lives of children and injured action sports athletes. Ryan Sheckler, Foundation Founder, ProfessionalSkateboarder, well-renowned athlete and 2008 X-Games Gold Medal winner will be attending the event and participating in a meet and greet. Entertainment includes rock & roll, alternative and 80’s flashback including bands: State of Grace, The Walcotts and Flashback Heartattack.
The event starts at 10 am on October 6th and will finish up at 6 pm. The location is the Long Beach Arena Back Lot – Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center at 300 E. Ocean Blvd., Long Beach, CA 90802. There will be approximately 250 privately owned Ford Trucks on display, a 24 x 32 foot stage, 3,000-5,000 spectators, three live Tribute bands, and DJ Baby Chino. Admission is FREE to the public and if you want to register your truck, it’s $20 pre-registration and $25 day of the event. The two categories are Classics and Custom/4×4. 1st place prize in each category will receive Nitto Tires.
Food includes: Food Truck Alley comprised of Southern California’s top food truck vendors. Other vendors include: Truck Accessory, Apparel and various product vendors will be participating.

Ford to beef up production of svt raptor
The Ford SVT Raptor has proved to be one of the top selling and most popular trucks in the last couple of years. Ford has made a decision to begin building the Raptor in its Dearborn truck plant to keep up with demand. The makers at Ford have set a goal to boost production to 5 trucks an hour within the next few weeks.
The Raptor began as an experiment and proved to be extremely successful. The Raptor starts at around $44,000 and can go up to $60,000 based on options.
It features a 6.2 Liter V-8 and offers 411 horsepower. Dealerships cannot keep these vehicles on the lot which is why Ford is beefing up production.
