Ford Raptor Cleaner than a Leaf Blower
That’s right…Edmund’s Inside Line did a test with a 6.2L V8 Ford Raptor, a 1.4L V4 Fiat, and two leaf blowers from Home Depot. They ran FTP 75 emission cycle tests on the vehicles and yard equipment, adjusting for aerodynamic and weight differences. What were the results?
The Fiat and Ford Raptor came out way ahead of the leaf blowers. Not only that, the Raptor put out fewer hydrocarbons than the Fiat. Someone should invent a hose that you can hook up to your Ford tail-pipe to blow your leaves and grass clippings. Not only would you make a boat-load of money, you would be helping the environment. That’s capitalism at it’s best.
SoCal SAYS: We would imagine that more research needs to be done here to prove the research, but if it holds up, this is a great sign for Ford. What an improvement from 5 or 10 years ago. Most lifted truck owners would rather drive a more environmentally friendly truck, especially since most of us snowboard, surf, ride in the desert or at the river. It’s great to see Ford doing their part.
