Lifted Trucks Set Guinness World Record
Two lifted and modified Toyota Hilux trucks, built by Arctic Trucks set a new Guinness World Record (“GWR”) for the fastest journey to the South Pole on land. They completed the journey in December 2010, but this week Guinness recognized the 1,400 mile trip that took 108 hours. The lifted trucks had 44″ tires, can carry 285 gallons of gas, and 2.6:1 gear ratio. The best part: they can run about 5 mpg in the Antarctica terrain. Now that’s slow!
