Honda Ridgeline Days May Be Numbered

The Honda Ridgeline will receive a few upgrades for 2012, but according to AutoNews.com, it’s very likely the Ridgeline will be discontinued in 2013. Why you ask? According to GoodCarBadCar.net, in July 2011, Honda only sold 377 Ridgelines. When compared with 49,000 Ford F-Series trucks and 33,000 Chevy Silverados sold in July, that is a tiny number. The GMC Canyon even sold 1,400 trucks, almost 4x more than the Ridgeline. Honda could replace it with a light truck based off the CRV, but that is still just speculation.
SoCal SAYS: It’s about time! We’ve been saying this for a long time, but the Ridgeline is hideous. Honda has a great reputation, so they should come out with a good looking, light truck to compete with the Tacoma. If this was successful, they could build a full-sized truck like the Titan or the Tundra. When you are getting out-sold by the GMC Canyon or the Dodge Dakota, you probably should change direction. We will applaud Honda if they go back to the drawing board.
